Chris has been called upon to provide expert testimony in many cases where weather played a contributing factor. Here are a just a few examples where expert weather testimony can make a difference:

Example: A fatal roll over accident occurs on a remote road. We can determine whether it was raining or snowing at the time, the wind speed and direction, approximately how much snow had accumulated and the temperature at the time of the accident.

Example: A plane crashes and a witness says they saw it in the moonlight. We can determine if there would have been moonlight to see the plane based on the cloud cover at the time of the accident.

Example: A murder occurs. What was the temperature prior to and after the time of death? This info is used by the medical examiner to match how long the body has been dead.

Example: A couple buys a home and two years later the basement leaks. Could the seller have known about the leaky basement? (In this case we go back and look at several years of weather data to see if it has been excessively rainy, etc.)
